Behind the Success: Domestic Violence, Women in Business & the Power of Support
A candid conversation in partnership with Women in Distress, honoring survivors and confronting how close to home this issue truly is.
Why this conversation, this month
Every October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month unites advocates, honors survivors, and renews the push to prevent and end domestic violence. This month, NAWBO South Florida joins that conversation, partnering with Women in Distress for a Chapter Dinner built around honesty rather than headlines.
We'll talk openly about the physical, mental, and economic toll domestic violence takes on women and why it doesn't discriminate by race, background, or education. It touches women in power, too, and we'll look at local news to show how close to home these cases really are. We’re honored that Coral Springs Mayor, Scott J. Brook, will deliver opening remarks.
The numbers:
1 in 3 women worldwide face physical or sexual abuse in their lifetime — a statistic that cuts across every industry and income level in this room.

This dinner is for every member of our business community — because supporting survivors, and the women still finding their way out, is part of what it means to build powerful business relationships. Come ready to listen, to learn, and to give.
